My Sanctuary: Whitney Hawkins
While home has often been considered a feminine space, too few opportunities have been given to women to tell their stories about the places they inhabit and the objects they value. Our sanctuaries articulate our unique aesthetics, rituals and needs and so become a beautiful expression of selfhood.
In this series we discover the stories of home and life told by some of the wonderful women in our midst.
Hailing from Dallas but currently residing in South Kensington, Whitney Hawkins worked for almost two decades at Tom Ford before leaving to set up her online floristry company FLOWERBX. From fashion to flowers she shares with us glimpses into her beautiful floral home.
“Sanctuary is something that has been at the forefront of my mind during this difficult period; I’ve definitely enjoyed spending more time at home with my family and I’ve found that certain places at home have taken on new meaning”
“Friends, food, and flowers are the perfect recipe for summer entertaining. Making memories at home are more important than ever”
“My bed at our house in the Cotswolds represents the one place I can actually wind down and recuperate after a crazy week. I sleep more soundly in this bed than anywhere in the world, and it’s extra wide so it can house all the kids and the pup on Saturday and Sunday morning”
