My Sanctuary: Linda Boronkay
While home has often been considered a feminine space, too few opportunities have been given to women to tell their stories about the places they inhabit and the objects they value. Our sanctuaries articulate our unique aesthetics, rituals and needs and so become a beautiful expression of selfhood.
In this series we discover the stories of home and life told by some of the wonderful women in our midst.
Originally from Budapest, but now based in London Linda Boronkay is an interior architect and designer that has worked for and with names such as Tom Dixon and Soho House. With an aesthetic sensibility that tends towards functionality and individuality, Linda shares with us some features of her Budapest residence.
“This is my apartment in Budapest where I am currently based. Staying here feels like such a sanctuary to me and I’m going to show you the things I treasure that help make this feel like my home away from home”
“Venetian mirror with a mid-century dry bar that showcases my mini crystal bottle collection”
“I love mixing furniture form different eras, it creates intrigue and an interesting chemistry in a room”
“I have had this baroque angel ever since I can remember. It was a gift from my Mom who used to be an antique collector and it’s still in a prime space in my flat always watching over and looking after me”
“This vintage mannequin features my brooches and my fascinator and hat collection”
“My apartment in Budapest is located at the Castle District in a building that dates back from the 18th Century”
