The Lustre Gold Dhow Platter is designed by Bethan Gray in collaboration with 1882 Ltd. This platter is the zenith of this opulent collection – completely finished with 22-carat gold and hand painted onto fine bone china it is a centrepiece for your table like no other. The dhow pattern is inspired by the billowing sails of Oman’s boats, and the serene lines printed onto the china give the impression of tactility and movement, setting this platter above other ceramics. It looks incredible with fresh fruits and vegetables placed on top, as their natural colors and textures coalecse with the luxurious gold dhow.

This pattern is only possible by hand; the motif is meticulously applied in three separate pieces and the plate is fired twice, in between paintings.

Material: Glazed fine bone china

Dimensions: W 34cm

1882 LTD’s name pays tribute to the longstanding history of ceramic craftsmanship in the Johnson family. The brand was formed by fourth and fifth generation descendants of the Johnson pottery dynasty whose achievements culminated in their annexation by Wedgwood Group in 1968. With a wealth of knowledge of ceramic industry history as well as a design philosophy that allows them to collaborate with talented artists, they create a combination of essential pieces and intricate objet d’art which highlight the heritage of hand made craft skills in Stoke-on-Trent. Their ceramics are made to be loved and used, whether that be in everyday dining or as an adornment to your home.
