The Lustre Black Dhow Pasta Bowl is designed by Bethan Gray in collaboration with 1882 Ltd. This bowl is made from fine bone china and is hand finished with 22-carat gold and black decals – these intricate details completed entirely by hand. Taking inspiration from the billowing sails of Oman’s distinct ships Bethan Gray created the dhow pattern: the strokes of black mimic the gentle movement of the sails in the wind and gives the Lustre collection its simple yet striking design.

This pattern is only possible by hand; the motif is meticulously applied in three separate pieces and the plate is fired twice, in between paintings.

Material: Glazed fine bone china

Dimensions: W 21cm x H 5cm

Care Details: Hand wash only

1882 LTD’s name pays tribute to the longstanding history of ceramic craftsmanship in the Johnson family. The brand was formed by fourth and fifth generation descendants of the Johnson pottery dynasty whose achievements culminated in their annexation by Wedgwood Group in 1968. With a wealth of knowledge of ceramic industry history as well as a design philosophy that allows them to collaborate with talented artists, they create a combination of essential pieces and intricate objet d’art which highlight the heritage of hand made craft skills in Stoke-on-Trent. Their ceramics are made to be loved and used, whether that be in everyday dining or as an adornment to your home.
